JANUARY 2010

Happy New Year to all our visitors! To kick off the New Year  and new decade in style, we have on show a very special and rare worn Manchester United shirt, used in the match held to honour one of the club's true legends.  This is Clayton Blackmore's shirt from Bryan Robson's testimonial game, held in 1990 (click on both names for biogaraphies).

  •  Bryan Robson's Testimonial game was held at Old Trafford on the 20th November 1990 v Celtic FC from Glasgow.  41,658 spectators attended the game to honour Captain Marvel's ten years at the club.
  • Clayton Blackmore played the full 90 minutes of the game and was involved in United's goal on the night.  He played a fantastic through ball to Neil Webb who then squared the ball for Mark Hughes to score the opening goal of the match.
  • The United line up for the game was as follows:  1 Sealey  2 Irwin  3  Blackmore  4 Bruce  5 Phelan  6 Pallister  7 Webb  8 Ince  9 McClair  10 Hughes  11 Wallace  Subs: Donaghy for Webb, Leighton for Sealey, Beardsmore for Hughes, Sharpe for Ince and Robson for Wallace
  • United shirts are always difficult to come by, so we are thrilled to have a shirt from a one off game honouring one of United's greatest players of all time.
  • We wish all our visitors and fellow collectors a VERY HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR!
